What is it?
3-thread fabric is a heavy, durable knit made with three yarns: a smooth face yarn, a binding yarn and a thicker back yarn. The back is either left as loops (French terry) or brushed into a soft fleece.
Options
Weights from 260 gsm to 500 gsm. Brushed (3-thread fleece) or unbrushed (French terry). Dyed or printed. Compositions include 100% cotton, 80/20 cotton-polyester, organic cotton and other blends on request.
Typical uses
Sweatshirts, hoodies, joggers, shorts and casualwear. Brushed versions suit warmer garments; French terry suits lighter sweatshirts and transitional styles.
Production considerations
Weight, shrinkage, brushing or finishing, pilling, colour consistency, stretch and compatibility with rib trims should be reviewed.
Quality starts before production
Relevant fabrics, trims, artwork, print or embroidery requirements and other value-added processes are reviewed against approved product requirements before bulk manufacturing begins.
