What is it?

Better Cotton is a global cotton sustainability initiative. The apparel industry still frequently uses the older BCI name in everyday sourcing conversations.

How we approach it

Better Cotton sourcing options can be considered according to customer requirements, supplier availability and programme documentation.

Common weights

Better Cotton is used across the same knitted constructions as conventional cotton: single jersey 150–250 gsm, rib 180–320 gsm, interlock 180–280 gsm and 3-thread fabrics 260–500 gsm.

Production considerations

Claims and labelling should match the specific supply-chain documentation available for the order.

Quality starts before production

Relevant fabrics, trims, artwork, print or embroidery requirements and other value-added processes are reviewed against approved product requirements before bulk manufacturing begins.
