What is it?
Organic cotton is cotton grown under organic agricultural standards. For apparel production, certification and transaction documentation should be checked according to the customer programme and supply-chain requirements.
Typical uses
T-shirts, tops, sweatshirts, hoodies, joggers and selected nightwear products.
Common weights
Organic cotton is available in most knitted constructions. Typical ranges: single jersey 150–250 gsm, rib 180–320 gsm, interlock 180–280 gsm and 3-thread fabrics 260–500 gsm.
Production considerations
Composition, weight, width, colour, shrinkage, hand feel and certification requirements should be confirmed before bulk production.
Quality starts before production
Relevant fabrics, trims, artwork, print or embroidery requirements and other value-added processes are reviewed against approved product requirements before bulk manufacturing begins.
