How it works

The fabric runs continuously beneath cylindrical screens, one per colour, which print a seamless repeat pattern along the full length of the roll. The printed fabric is then cut and sewn.

Fabrics

Rotary printing is a continuous printing technique that can be used on all types of fabric, both knitted and woven.

Minimum quantities

Because the fabric is printed by the roll and each colour needs its own cylinder, the minimum production quantity can be higher than for other printing methods.

Typical uses

All-over floral and pattern prints for dresses, shirts, blouses, skirts and tops.

Production considerations

Repeat size, number of colours, fabric shrinkage, colour fastness and pattern matching at seams should be approved before bulk printing.

Quality starts before production

Relevant fabrics, trims, artwork, print or embroidery requirements and other value-added processes are reviewed against approved product requirements before bulk manufacturing begins.
